During the Pokémon TCG, there have been a variety of different border types denoted a certain card type. And by border, I mean stuff like the border around the main artwork, flavor text, etc.

Normal borders

The normal, typically golden or silver borders on your typical card. This is like 90% of every card ever made.

Dark borders

Introduced in Team Rocket and also used in Gym sets and finally in Neo Destiny, Dark borders represent either Dark Pokémon or Rocket-owned Pokémon.

Light borders

Seen solely in Neo Destiny, these borders represent Light Pokémon. Technically they never existed in non-Neo sets so my interpretation of them on Base Set and Gym templates are exactly that.

Delta Species borders

During the EX Delta Species series, these Pokémon cards had a unique DNA strand-style border.

  • (Maybe I'll add them to my existing blanks as a custom design?)

Prime borders

Part of the HGSS series, these were otherwise normal Pokémon but with this sort of breakthrough effect.

  • (a other potentially simple design)

Team Plasma borders

This is a unique border design that tinted Team Plasma cards in a deep blue color.

  • (These should be easy to add to my existing designs)
