More info on the Eon Ticket Toys 'R Us Tour

By BPM_EXE [Saturday, July 19 2003]

A Quick Diversion: ____?
____!
____...

The Actual News:

Well, I recently obtained more information about the Eon Ticket dealy going on at Toys 'R Us. I found out from WizPog member Magmar2000. Here's what Magmar had to say:

"I headed over to the Tacoma, WA Toys R Us today and checked out the EON Ticket Summer Tour stop.

First to clear up any confusion, you get BOTH EON tickets! Yep, they download the ticket onto your game - but they also give out the EON ticket cards!

The entire thing was pretty cool, even though I was only able to stop by, get my ticket, and go.

The Pikachu Bug was parked in front of the store, with a red canopy set up by the entrance/exit to the store. Under that canopy was a table where 2 kids were playing cards (there was a playmat for the card playing) and another person was standing by with their GameBoy Advance watching.

Next to that was another table with lots of Pokemon goodies. The tour person was standing behind this table and I asked him about the EON ticket. He explained everything to me and he sent the EON ticket into my game. He then handed me the EON Ticket card, in case I ever needed it.

He then told me to pick some of the Pokemon goodies from the table. There were different figures, posters, and pins there. Two girls were picking out some figures. I picked up a Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire poster and the Gold set of Pokemon Pins that were released back with Pokemon Gold/Silver. (The package came with a Ho-oh pin, a Pikachu pin, and a Togepi pin.)

It was pretty cool! So if the tour is stopping near you, I would definitely check it out!"

So you still get an Eon Ticket Card-e. Good times. And seems like some other things are going on, too. More good times.

Maybe I WILL go to the Mesa TRU on August 27th... Hmm.

So... yeah. That's it.

Kyogre ex and Groudon ex return.

By BPM_EXE [Saturday, July 19 2003]

A Quick Diversion: Ya know, some study reported that "kumkuat" is the funniest word in the English language. It's not THAT funny. All I'm telling you is what I heard on Cram. Meh.

The Actual News:

Kyogre ex

Groudon ex

That's right. They're back... WITH A VENGENCE! OK, not really. But they are now in a holo version, much like the Pokémon-ex cards in EX: Ruby & Sapphire. And for whatever reason, they're still numbered 001 and 002. They just lack the Dot Codes and IDs.

Why are they numbered 001 and 002? Beats me. It wasn't like this with the Japanese promos:
001: Kyogre ex
002: Groudon ex
011: Kyogre ex (holo)
012: Groudon ex (holo)
(Yes, there are more besides these, but that's not important)
I wonder why Nintendo of America/Pokémon USA decided to do it like this.

Although, it's not like Wizards hasn't done this before, either. Both the holo version of ______'s Pikachu and the non-holo version (from the Pikachu World Collection) are numbered the same.

These came from the San Diego Comic Con. Nothing ever happens in Phoenix... meh.

Japanese test:
ポケモヌ ルビ− & サファイア

Blanky Surprizes...

By Nick15 [Saturday, July 19 2003]

A Quick Diversion: GenCon is just around the corner.... 4 more days until I lave California for the Big Apple. [thinks] No wait... the Big... uhm... Peach? Hmmm.. Just what is Indiana's "Big" thing anyways? ... OH! The Big Kumkuat!

The Actual News:

I've been working hard on them... but it's taking a bit longer that I expected. Uhm... so swing by maybe tomorrow or Monday for some Blanky surprizes, provided to you by DragonWave19 and FangKing, the dudes who provided those custom blanks from a while back. Good times? Perhaps, perhaps. ;)

Pokémon + Promotion = Pokémotion.

By BPM_EXE [Thursday, July 17 2003]

A Quick Diversion: Ya know, when people start to complain that Pokémon news is slow, that's when things start to pop up.

The Actual News:

Promotions are great. I mean, who doesn't love promotions? They let you get more junk from you favorite franchises (the only reason I'd want to go to McDonald's, for example, is those Sonic handheld games). More junk... is good. Or bad. Depends on how good the junk is.

Anyhoo...

Have you folks ever seen those LCD devices where you spin it, and it looks like an image is being projected in the air? I know I have.

Well, looks like Nintendo Co., Ltd./TPC/etc. is pulling a new Pokémon promotion! Check it out! (And in Babel Fishese for those of you who don't know Japanese, like myself.)

Is it that cool?

Yes. It is THAT cool. I want one. Sure, I'll probably be bored with it under 5 minutes, 22.3 seconds... but it's still cool!

Hey, Pikachu! Why'd you dip your ears in green paint, eh?

[still cool!]

Another chance for the Eon Ticket!

By BPM_EXE [Wednesday, July 16 2003]

A Quick Diversion: You are too big to be a slug.
Just get lost.

The Actual News:

Well, Nintendo's doing yet another Eon** Ticket giveaway. And like the giveaway at the Pokémon Center New York, it will be a download, not a Card-e. But, you'll probably be able to transfer it to 100 other Game Paks, so no worries (unless you received your Eon Ticket from anther Game Pak, and not the transfer machine).

Oh, yeah! Nintendo's info page!

Well, while I think their selection of Toys 'R Us locations is somewhat questionable, it's what we'll have to deal with. I suppose I might go to the Mesa, AZ one (even though I already have an Eon Ticket from Eł), just for the heck of it. Maybe I can promote FakeCard.com there... or something... or another...

Oh, and something I know I didn't mention before! Besides Nintendo Power and Scrye magazines carrying the Groudon ex and Kyogre ex promos, so is InQuest. Their 100th issue (out now) has Groudon ex. And I assume their 99th issue had Kyogre ex. Sorry about mentioning this kinda late. It was just recent that I found this out.

Well, that's all for now... Or is it?
Yes. Yes it is.

**NOTE: Yes, yes, I know that they spell it "EON" on the page. But unless it's used for yelling or warning labels, I think typing a word in all caps is really stupid. Not that what I say should care.

System is up

A Quick Diversion: I still need vitamin C.

The Actual News:

Forums work.

That is all.

System is down

By RyoShin [Wednesday, July 16 2003]

A Quick Diversion: I CRAVE VITAMIN C

The Actual News:

The forums are down until furthur notice. Yeah.

More as it comes.

Scrye August 2003 out.

By BPM_EXE [Tuesday, July 15 2003]

A Quick Diversion: Seriously, this time I REALLY have nothin'. Honest. And if someone told you I have somethin', then they're lying. Because I have got nothin' but nothin'.

The Actual News:

Like the subject says. The August 2003 issue of Scrye is out. And it contains a Groudon ex card.

And in somewhat related magazine-promo news, from what I've heard, the Kyogre ex and Groudon ex in volume 170 of Nintendo Power (the July/August 2003 issue) are not a subscriber bonus. But, I've yet to confirm this myself. And if I've mentioned this before, then sorry. My memory comes and goes.

[insert humourous closing comment here]

Pokémon Colosseum - Now it's worth my money!

By BPM_EXE [Monday, July 14 2003]

A Quick Diversion: Hi. I'm insane. And you?

The Actual News:

What has been one of the biggest requests by players of Pokémon? Stealing other Trainers' Pokémon (not a request of mine, mind you. It just doesn't seem right). Well... whether you wished for such a thing or not, it's gonna happen.

Enter the Scenario Mode
In scenario mode, you get to steal other Trainers' Pokémon in an RPG-esque fashion. First, you must weaken them (like you would with a wild Pokémon), then you get to capture them.

The good news?
Apparently all (or maybe just most) of these Pokémon are all of the old Pokémon (in the Hoenn Dex, they're numbers 203 (Bulbasaur) to 386 (Celebi).)!

The better news?
You can (apparently) download them to your Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire Game Pak! YES! You can now have all of your classic favorite monsters LEGALLY!

According to Serebii.net, Colosseum's US release will be early December this year. Sounds good to me.

So... eat your meat. Otherwise you can't have any pudding.
